I roll out the porcelain into a slab and then carefully, drape the porcelain into a bowl mold. The inside its smoothed and joined and the edge on one side is ripped. It dries for a day- removed from the mold and then the outside is smoothed and joined. It dries for two more days. The bowl is then bisque fired and cooled for 12-15 hours. Then removed from the kiln, clear glazed to make it food safe and again fired to vitrification ( all pores in the clay closed). Another 12-15 hours. Finally, gold is hand applied to the rim and fired again.

Due to the time intensive effort to create this bowl we have a 2-3 week turnaround. If your bowl breaks during shipping, please send us a picture and we will remake and resend the bowl at no additional charge to you. Each bowl is custom designed and individual. The bowl you receive will not be the one shown, but similar and custom made just for you. It will have its own ripped edge and shape.
