Queen of weddings!!

Hiring Shawn to organize and plan our wedding was probably the second most important decision I ever made only behind proposing to my husband. I truly don’t know how anyone plans a wedding without her. We had lots of wild ideas going into this – we wanted a wedding that somehow combined my Japanese heritage and imagery with a rustic upstate NY barn aesthetic, not exactly the thing that Pinterest has examples of, and she took our ideas and solidified them into something coherent, doable, and beautiful all while respecting our vision. Among our other wild requests was to bring a grand piano into the barn so I could perform with my best friend from college. From a logistical standpoint, she is incredibly organized and responsive, sending out timeline after timeline to us and interfacing directly with our vendors, making sure that everyone is on the same page, every license is acquired, every truck arrives at the correct time, etc. With her we always felt that nothing could possibly be overlooked or go wrong. The day of the wedding she was there to help set up, and she was there at the end of the night to help take everything back down again. She decorated our pergola with the boxes of cherry blossoms we brought! She was 100% the guardian angel of the wedding day, making sure everything went completely smoothly to the point that my wedding day was ironically one of the least stressful days in recent memory. And it looked awesome too!!

Effective and efficient ray of sunshine!

Working with Shawn was such a blessing!  I would hire her again in a heartbeat.  Our venue did not have an onsite coordinator, so Shawn stepped in to set up all of our decor, coordinate deliveries, and make sure everything ran smoothly with the venue itself (drink service, food, band coordination and timing, logistical timing of events throughout the night, boxing everything up at the end of the night for us to pick up the next day).  She was everywhere and completely unseen all at once.  She was helpful in the months leading up to the wedding to answer any vendor related questions, and her locality to the Ithaca area definitely came in handy.  She is an effective communicator, by email and phone, and an absolute ray of sunshine the day of our wedding at at rehearsal.  I knew that I could relax with our big day in her hands.  She also comes at an incredible price point, which is a major plus.  Of note, I am very organized and controlling and was super anxious leading up to the wedding... she eased all of my worries while still allowing me to have my hands in the production of the wedding. 10/10 recommend!

Comprehensive, confidence instilling

Shawn came into our wedding plans when we thought we had most of the planning complete. We were looking for someone to tell us what we were missing and help cross off the final checklist items. We also needed someone we could count on on the day of the wedding. Shawn came through in a big way. She reviewed our plans with a fine tooth comb and totally took the reins from there. She got all of our vendors on the same page and took care of all of the day of coordinating. We really were so lucky to work with Shawn on our wedding and recommend Happiest Days Design to anyone who will listen!

Awesome Planner!!

We are so happy we decided to hire Shawn! I was one of the brides who thought she really could do it all, and about mid-way through planning, I just felt stuck. We hired Shawn, and she was able to help us get vendors through her connections that we had issues finding before. The day of, she was AMAZING. I was unaware of so many little things happening because she just handled them so my husband and I could focus on our day. Our wedding ran so smoothly, and she was so professional at handling issues that came up! Our guests had a fantastic time, and I so appreciate her skills. If you are considering a planner, DO IT, and hire Shawn!

Nothing but good things to say

I was really stressed about final details of planning our wedding, so I started reaching out to planners probably 6 months before. Shawn was the obvious choice. She is very organized and professional and had great ideas. She made sure all the vendors were on the same page and handled details like table set up so I didn’t have to. She asked great planning questions that i never would have thought of on my own, and her familiarity with the venue was invaluable as well.

Highly recommend!

Shawn was wonderful to work with! We went back and forth on whether or not we needed a planner but we ended up hiring Shawn for the full planning package. She kept everything organized with our vendors and was easy to communicate with. She was available when we wanted help or had questions but allowed us to still feel like we had control over all the decisions that went into our wedding. She made decor suggestions, facilitated vendor communication, calmed our nerves, helped lead our rehearsal, and created a detailed and much needed timeline. In addition to being incredibly helpful leading up to our wedding day, Shawn and her team were excellent in setting up and cleaning up at the end of the night which was a huge relief to us and our families. We would 100% recommend Shawn to anyone looking for a wedding planner!

Happiest Days Helped Create the Happiest Day!

Shawn from Happiest Days Design was amazing! She truly was an all-star when it came to helping our overall vision come together; our day couldn't have been more perfect. She was our voice when we weren't available, had excellent suggestions from vendors to decor, and even more importantly, she was just a phenomenal person. Shawn is a professional.

Shawn made the entire wedding planning process so fluid. She struck the perfect balance between orchestrating our special day and letting us add our ideas. Her vendor selection provided value in seamless integration amongst the vendors. Whenever something unexpected occurred (like a vendor going out of business all of the sudden), she was quick to find a solution--sometimes working late into the night. She communicates well, and she is just an all around great person. Anyone would be lucky to have Shawn be the wedding planner.

Collaborating with Shawn

Shawn is a calming, guiding force. She has deep connections to vendors in the area and will work hard to help find the right fit for her couples (and keep you close to budget). She is both an artist and an organizer, a mix that is hard to find. She began working with us back in 2021. After our special day was delayed due to ongoing Covid concerns, she stuck by our side and helped us execute a fabulous celebration in 2022.

She was patient, deferential when needed, gave us nudges when needed, and did all she could to ensure we could enjoy our wedding day from start to finish. She went above and beyond for our complex vision. Shawn made special trips, ensured multiple venues were all set, and oversaw all the vendors. We didn’t have to worry about a thing when the day came. We can’t imagine how we would have pulled off our wedding without a planner, and we are so happy to have Shawn in our circle now. Thank you!

Spectacular Wedding Planner Made Our Big Day a Dream Come True

Shawn at Happiest Days Designs was truly our hero. My husband and I had tried planning our wedding several years in a row by ourselves, COVID causing numerous delays and rescheduling. Our big day was starting to lose its sparkle. In search of help, to finally make this happen in 2022, I found Happiest Days Designs. I bought the part-time planner package because we had some of the basics already sorted out (date/time, venue, caterer, etc.). She was very responsive to our initial inquiry and stepped up to the plate. She was going to help us bring the sparkle back to our big day. When our initial caterer (that I had hired months before I started working with Happiest Days Designs) dropped out months before our wedding, Shawn was there to the rescue with a list of caterers for us to work with. As we jumped over each hurdle, each task, I started to literally feel the stress, the weight of this wedding start to lift off from my shoulders. I could take a deep breath and knew she'd be by my side as we tackled this together.

I can't write enough good things about Happiest Days Designs. I can't remember a time that I didn't hear from Shawn within 10 minutes of emailing her. She's so responsive, helpful, and was there for our every need. The day of the wedding she was so organized and helped everything run smoothly.

Highly Highly Recommend!

I absolutely loved working with Shawn for our wedding in Ithaca! I’m a very detail-oriented person myself, and so deeply appreciated Shawn’s professional, organized, and calming presence throughout our wedding process - giving me the confidence that each aspect of our wedding would be covered seamlessly.

Shawn became our month-of wedding coordinator when we had to change venues due to COVID just a few weeks before the event. That required so many new components of our wedding (transportation, different room blocks, a new ceremony set-up, etc.). Shawn was incredibly organized and was our support system throughout all of these changes - covering how our ceremony would run, making sure buses for our guests ran smoothly, the set-up at the venue, and every other little detail (from how our escort cards were arranged, to our place settings, to our signature drinks).

As others have mentioned here, Shawn was on top of everything while also being very warm and sincere - exactly what we were looking for in a wedding coordinator.

2020 to 2021 challenges

We originally booked Happiest Days Designs for an August 2020 wedding. As the pandemic progressed Shawn Hull was in contact about options for our wedding whether those be downsizing, virtual or postponing.
When we decided to postpone until 2021 Shawn was communicative and supportive. She even reached out on our “2020 would’ve been wedding day” to wish us well.
Throughout the changing regulations, Shawn kept us informed and advised us on how best to make our day happen.
On the day of our wedding Shawn kept in touch with us about the Limo driver, guest arrivals, coordinating the vendors and all of the other small pieces while also assisting us with our small decorative touches.
Working with Shawn was reassuring and helped us have a stress free “day of” and our guests have a great time celebrating with us!

If you’re not sure if you need a day of coordinator, YOU DO!

Shawn was recommended to us through a friend of a friend who had booked her for a wedding. We booked Shawn in 2019 for our July 2020 wedding that was postponed to July 2021 due to the pandemic. Shawn was so consistent with her communication and kept us up to date with all of the COVID restrictions to ensure our safety and that of our guests.
We are so happy we decided to book Shawn as our day of coordinator!!! We felt confident in the planning process but we definitely needed Shawn’s expertise for ensuring our day ran smoothly! Whenever we had questions or concerns about the wedding Shawn was quick to respond with creative solutions. We needed bussers for our wedding and Shawn suggested her husband and two daughters to help. We eagerly agreed! Our wedding day was absolutely PERFECT thanks to Shawn’s amazing attention to detail and ability to communicate clearly with all of our vendors so they were all on the same page. She even set up our dessert table for us!!! And gifted us beautiful personalized mugs! We can’t thank Shawn, her assistant, and her family enough for everything they did for us and hope to work with Shawn again in the future! Couldn't ask for more

Shawn was fantastic to work with. She made everything so much easier for us: finding vendors, narrowing down choices and had a lot of great creative input. Also, we had to downsize to a smaller we]edding due to Covid and she made the pivot to the micro wedding a complete breeze. Highly recommend!!

Shawn was amazing

Shawn was 100% worth every cent we paid (and more honestly). We live several hours from Ithaca and she made planning incredibly easy even from such a distance. We had to pivot a lot due to Covid and she handled all of it really well. We had to drastically downsize the wedding because of the restrictions (we went from ~100 people to 11) and had to redo everything about 2 months before the wedding. She helped us lock down a new venue, a new reception site and helped us change our orders with the vendors we kept. We loved working with her!
